Heartland Animal Hospital in Fairfax is great! The employees know their stuff and care! They have always taken tremendous care of our two dogs and our cat. I appreciate that their fees are appropriate for the services!

My first visit to Fairfax Heartland clinic had an excellent experience! Friendly and compassionate clinic with top notch service! Dr Ellsworth immediately diagnosed my dogs eye issue and did testing to determine my dogs issue. Previously went to another clinic in North Liberty and they didn’t diagnose the issue nor care about the problem and never did any diagnostic testing. I am very glad I made this change and wish I would have made it sooner! Excellent knowledge, service and care at Heartland clinic!!!!

Hands down the best veterinary clinic I have ever been to. Personally, I have never met more caring doctors, techs, and staff than the amazing people that staff this clinic. They’re all so kind, caring, and compassionate human beings. I was devastated when the previous veterinarian that owned this clinic retired. Never did I think I would find another veterinarian as kind and honest as he was. We had a situation with an animal and decided to use this clinic since they already had our records. That’s a choice I will never, ever regret. Keep up the amazing work Fairfax!

Dr. Ellsworth is very personable and speaks the language of pet owners. At our first visit she put us on a new treatment plan for one of our over grooming cats. We are now off steroids after 5 years and the over grooming has nearly vanished! The staff is very friendly and attentive. We were able to set up an appointment that worked for our schedule in a very reasonable timeframe. We have already referred five friends who are equally thrilled and have found Dr. Ellsworth to be highly knowledgeable, compassionate and deeply engaged in the pursuit of providing the best care possible!

Lonnie came highly recommended by a veterinarian friend, but all of the staff here are amazing. They are super up front about costs and always treat the animals like their own. Our little guy Remy had an amazing experience from his first check up at 10 weeks to his last lime shot and checking out some conjunctivitis 3 months later. We look forward to having them as our vet clinic for many years to come.
Update 2 years on: I love how responsive and caring the staff is. Lonnie has taken the most care in making sure our dog is looked after, feels comfortable, and is getting the care he needs. I can’t wait for her to be our vet for many years to come.

I have recently switched to Heartland Animal Hospital because I felt like just another number at our old vet. Since I have made the move I felt a much more personable experience with the staff and the doctor. Heartland has been amazing and I extremely happy with their services and the fact they are literally 2 minutes away from my house.

We needed an appointment for our cat. Even though they are very busy, they worked with me to get my cat in for care.
The doctor was very kind and gentle with kitty. She asked a lot of questions to best gauge what might be going on.
The clinic called later in the week to follow up and see how she was doing. They called again about a week later to report test results. Not only did they give test results, they followed up on how kitty was doing and whether we’d seen improvements. Very helpful in developing a plan to move forward and when we should call back, if necessary.

I can only say positive things about Heartland Animal Hospital! It is evident that they truly care about their furry patients and their owners. The convenience of their app for scheduling appointments and reminders is a game-changer, making managing Goose’s appointments a breeze.
The staff at Heartland Animal Hospital are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s clear they have a genuine affection for animals, as they always greet Goose with enthusiasm and make him feel at ease during his visits. Their follow-up after Goose’s surgery was exceptional, providing us with peace of mind knowing he was in good hands.
I also appreciate how accommodating the vet is with all our questions and concerns. No matter how trivial they may seem, they always take the time to address them thoroughly, which has been incredibly reassuring as pet parents.
Overall, Heartland Animal Hospital meets our expectations. We’re grateful to have such a caring and professional team looking after Goose’s health and well-being.

This is hands-down one of the absolute best Vet offices around. Every single person that works there is kind, considerate and will bend any way they can to help you and your pet. I’ve never had a bad experience there. They treat all my animals, even exotic, and I always feel that they are getting the best care and honest service from each visit. I recommend HAH every chance I get. Even when they are extremely busy they make time for you and make you feel so important. They just really care about your pets and you. They are truly the best.
